A simulation is a distinguished sub-set of a server's immersive environment.

Basically, just as a single server can run several websites in this day and age (e.g. Wildcard and Sehto both running on the same physical machine in different folders), a server serving immersive environments may have several wholly independent worlds available.

In Sanctuary and many other multi-simulation hosts, the term Fragment is also used.
