**Autonomous Puppets** are the antonym to [[terminology:Puppet:sim-bound]] Puppets.

In the server context, they're run as separate processes from the actual server, even if they retain a strong interface to it that ensures they don't stray from their intended purpose.

They typically cannot leave the server they're on because they have no data transfer routines, themselves - all interaction goes via the server - but technically there is nothing that prevents an autonomous Puppet from at least theoretically moving to another server unobstructed.
